Rita

Rita

Hello, my name is Rita. I have lived in Colorado Springs since 1979. I love Colorado, I love Colorado Springs, I love all the areas around it and I love the fact that we can be outside 365 days a year.

Animals and household pets make life complete. I have raise kids, have lots of grand kids and we have always had pets , Golden Retrievers, hamsters, fish, parakeets, we’ve had them all and loved them all. I believe it is our responsibility to care for the animals, to make sure that they are healthy, comfortable and in a good environment. Thank you for having me take care of your pets. It is an honor and a privilege, because they are part of your family and I know they are very important to you.

If you need to contact me while you were away I’ll be happy to talk with you and let you know how your pets are doing.

Debra

Debra

Hi there!
My name is Deb and I moved here to El Paso County September 2014 to be closer to family. I am happily married and my husband is retired from the federal government. I have three grown children all over the age of 18 and in addition I raised three Siberian Huskies 14, 15 + 17 years of age. I have hands-on experience with a variety of different animals including Exotics.

I am able to provide love and attention to your forever friend while you are away and I’m looking forward to meeting your critters!

Richard

Richard

I have recently retired from Federal law enforcement after 24 plus years and am looking forward to a change of pace.  One of my proudest accomplishments during my career was implementing and participating in service dog training and basic obedience training.   I ran the program which was comprised of up to ten dogs that ranged in age from 10 weeks up to two years old.  The dogs were taught up to 50 basis commands, to include commands for assist purposes.  The canine program, which was recently showcased on a CNN Broadcast, highlighted the benefits of those in need of an assist dog and the training procedures we utilized.   The end results of the program are amazing and very rewarding.

Over the years, my family has had a variety of animals to include cats, dogs, ferrets, birds, hamsters and gerbils.  I have a broad understanding of animals in general.  If you have it, I can take care of it and I’ll enjoy every minute of it!

I have recently moved to Colorado Springs and look forward to using my care and understanding of animals to give you a sense of comfort and well being when you are not able to be there.  I’m dedicated to providing your pet the next best thing to having you there personally.

Kathy

Kathy

Hello!  My name is Kathy.  I grew up in a small farm town in Minnesota and I love animals.   My mother would attest to that because she would say, ‘Kathy was always bringing animals home.” ……garter snakes in the cookie jar, kitties hidden under my bed, injured squirrels, abandoned birds and bunnies, and even turtles, salamanders and frogs.  She did not always appreciate the critters I brought home, but she and my dad did allow me and my sisters to have a toy terrier and horses.

I am retired from my career in Water Quality Management and recently returned to my beloved Colorado after living for six years in Puerto Rico.  I fulfilled my dream of living on an island, but missed the mountains, my family and all the adventures Colorado has to offer.  Living in Puerto Rico also meant living in a culture where animals are rarely seen as family members.  It broke my heart every day to see abandoned, abused and neglected animals.  I rescued Apache, a Rottweiler who had heart worm and was starving. I “fixed him up”, and we had almost six wonderful years together.  I still miss him and think of him often.

I used to live in an area in the mountains where people were known to dump their pets they no longer wanted.  One cold snowy night right before Thanksgiving, a tiny kitty showed up on our doorstep.  My two year old daughter loved the kitty and, after some fancy talking to my spouse who did not appreciate cats, Little Moon Cat joined our family.  He was very independent and adventuresome, yet laid back, friendly and very smart.  He must have gone through several lives and lived to be 20 years of age.  Other pets we had when my kids were growing up included dogs, a horse, a gerbil, fish and mallard ducks.  Animals are so interesting to hang out with, each has their own personality. I find it rewarding to care for them.

I have house/pet sat for friends and family.  I am a caring pet sitter and will make sure your pets are safe and comfortable in your absence.  I am experienced in caring for infirm animals.  I am a dependable, responsible adult and will respect your home as if it were my own.  I do not have an issue spending prolonged periods “at home”; I read, watch movies, crochet, do puzzles, and am exploring my artistic ability by learning to draw, sketch and use water color pencils.  I too have had to select pet and house sitters and understand the importance of finding a qualified person to trust in these instances.  No worries.

Denise

Denise

I have lived in Colorado for 28 years.  I have always loved animals and grew up with dogs and cats.  That is when I started bringing home any dogs that were loose; I was going to have them live with me.  My parents had to explain that these dogs already had owners and I had to give them back.  I have always rescued lost dogs and made a huge effort in finding their owners.  Once I got married I had a Shih Tzu and he was my baby.  He lived till he was 13 years old.

I now am a dedicated wife and homemaker and the proud mom of two human children in their teens and 3 Maltese’s.  Their names are Sooner, Boomer and Schooner.  If you are a football fan then you figured out we are big Oklahoma Sooner fans.  Our dogs get birthday parties every year, with presents and a cake.

Please know when you leave your furry family with Little Paws I will love them as if they were mine!

Linda

Linda

Linda has had a life-long love affair with animals. In addition to having many family pets while growing
up, she often brought home stray kittens, injured wildlife , and other assorted critters to add them the household, or deliver them to the proper medical facility. Over time, Linda became increasingly more involved with animal welfare work. She discovered her true passion was working with humane organizations in finding permanent , loving homes for unwanted companion animals. Although a computer consultant and archaeologist by profession, Linda has worked with many dog, cat, bird and horse welfare organizations over the years. In fact, one of her dreams came true when she co-founded Help Save Pets (HSP), a humane society in Plainfield IL. She was also appointed to a special animal welfare task force to advise Illinois government prosecutors in animal abuse cases. Linda adopted a mustang horse, who was wild-caught by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) when he was two years old. Through natural horsemanship training, Zorro became a well seasoned trail horse and Linda’s companion in doing wild horse advocacy presentations at county fairs and humane society functions. Although both are semi-retired, Linda and Zorro are still involved in seeking federal legislation for the protection of America’s wild horses. Linda brings many years of experience working with companion animals to Little Paws Pet Sitting.
Her motto is, “I treat your pets as if they were my own.” She is dedicated to providing the best possible care to your animals while you are away.

Karen

Karen

I was raised in a farming community in northern Illinois and have been around animals all my life.

Since moving to Colorado Springs in 1976 I have cared for the pets of my friends many times, often for weeks at a time. Most often these have been dogs and cats, but I have also cared for the occasional gerbil and rabbit.

I have enjoyed being the house sitter for Little Paws on a professional level for many years now. I am looking very much forward to caring for your home and 4-legged family members either just overnights or days AND nights.

Lessie

Lessie

Lessie is a transplanted Nebraska native. She moved to Colorado Springs in 2007 with her husband, David. Her love affair with animals dates back to her first kitten. Animals have always played an important part in her life.

Lessie is a college graduate and enjoys many different hobbies. She loves reading, traveling, and trying new foods. She loves dragons and has a large variety in her collection. She is the proud “Mama” to a Dachshund and two cats. They are the joy of her life!

She  always looks forward to making many new furry friends. She is committed to ensuring a high quality of life and love to all animals. Unlimited ear scratches and tummy rubs without a request!

Pet Visits

Our current staff consists of 14 professional staff pet sitters. It is our goal to have the same pet sitter available for you every time you make a reservation with us.

Our staff has undergone a criminal and personal background check before being hired. All pet sitters have either been pet owners for a long time or have worked/volunteered in the animal community. We have experience administering medication . During all visits your pets will get the personal attention and care they deserve. We understand each pet has a different daily routine, feeding requirements and habits, specific to their breed, age and health. We cater to all of these needs.

1. Upon arrival your pets will be greeted and cared for according to your prior instructions. Depending on your preference, we will also bring in your mail, take out or bring in your garbage can, alternate lights and water plants.

2. At the very first visit your pet sitter will text, call or e-mail you to let you know he/she has arrived. If your pet let's us, we will be happy to text you pictures to confirm your furry family is happy while you're away.

3. A care report will be left in your home each day that your pet sitter visits. This report specifies the arrival time and date, what was done during the visit and additional information that your pet sitter wants to share with you.

4. Before leaving your home your pet sitter will do a home safety check to ensure your pets and home are ready to be left alone until the next scheduled visit.

I am so happy I found little paws! We couldn’t take our two dogs on our trip, so I was looking around a lot. We do not have family around here, so I thought our only option was a kennel. I checked out all the kennels/daycare facilities around Colorado Springs, but I wasn’t happy about leaving my dogs there. They are very people oriented and the little one is a little timid when other dogs bark. At the kennels there was 24/7 barking. And not much human interaction. So then I came across Little Paws internet site and I immediately knew that that was the best option for us. The services they offer are great and our pet sitter did everything exactly as instructed. He also left notes about everyday which were very informative and nicely written. As hard as it was for us to leave our dogs behind, knowing they were in their familiar surrounding and had somebody come multiple times a day to feed them, play with them and give them attention, made everything so much better! Thank you so much!

I have been using Little Paws Pet Sitting for over a year now on a regular basis and have had great service every time. Ulrike Rogers, the owner is always very helpful and responsive with any requests and questions. Our pet sitter that comes and watches my pets when I am away is also amazing, and I never have to worry about anything when I’m away. I highly recommend Little Paws Pet Sitting for anyone in need of this type of service.

Christine M., 80909

Little Paws has been a God send for our family. We had no one to watch our two older dogs. Little Paws has provided us opportunities to do things as a family that we weren’t able to do before. We take comfort in knowing that Little Paws will be providing excellent care to our pets. Their staff are so friendly and professional and have always been available. Our dogs love their staff ! We couldn’t imagine using another pet sitting service. They are the BEST!

Heather M., 80916

Thank you for the outstanding service we received while we were away. It was truly a blessing to know our little one was in good hands! We will definitely be recommending your services to our friends and family.

Samantha M. & Lucas S., 80918

Dear Ulrike,

We want to thank you for the care you provided for our dog, Marta, while we took the train trip up Pikes Peak. It was easy to make arrangements with you via e-mail prior to our trip and we were very comfortable with the person who cared for Marta. She made friends with Marta immediately and asked pertinent questions about her. We feel very confident in recommending your service to others.

With thanks, Loretta & Larry Reeser

Jack O’Donnell Why??? If you want to sleep, or have any peace of mind while you are away…that is why! Wish you were in Tucson!

Jack O., Tuscon, AZ

Little Paws was absolutely fabulous for the three years we lived in Colorado Springs. Both Ulrike and Lessie took tremendous care of our two newfies, who adored them. Lessie earned our respect particularly after one of our beasts had a crippling spinal embolism; she went well beyond the call of duty. These people love dogs, and our dogs certainly loved them.

Winky and Chewy has been taken care by the best cat sitters in town, little paws pet sitting, for over 6 years. I wouldn’t think of leaving my darling pets with anyone else! Little paws is responsible, loving and priced reasonably. They go beyond expectations for those of us that ocassionally forget to buy kitty food before going on a long trip :-). I know my kitties are safe and in great hands when I’m out of town. They are always worried about pet safety and their well being while their humans are gone. They also do a great job with plants, mail and cleaning after pets! I love Ulrike and her staff…Winky and Chewy love Linda! Thank you for all you do for us and our pets!
