Harry

Harry

I have called the Security/Widefield area home for over 50 years. My children all graduated from Widefield High School as did my wife and I.  For the past 33 years I have been teaching music, mostly to elementary students, but, at the end of last year, my wife and I both retired.  I now have plenty of time to spend with another passion of mine…dogs and cats and all furry and feathered creatures!

Dogs have always been a major part of our lives, but for the past 12 years we have had a cat as the queen of the house.

I know that your pets are part of your family, and that their safety, happiness and wellfare are essential for your own sense of well-being.  I appreciate the tremendous amount of trust that you have placed in Little Paws and me by allowing me to care for these wonderful family members, and I assure you that I will honor that trust through my time and care.

Rich

Rich

Raising a large family for us always meant having many pets through the years…dogs, cats, hamsters, mice, a Vietnamese pig and even a lamb! I’m the proud Dad of 11 children, now all grown up.

We knew and taught our children that they were God’s gift to us and they were His gift to teach us love, patience, and care for all His creation!

Now retired, I spend my time with my grandchildren, often pet sitting their pets when they are away.  I try to get in a round of golf once a week and because of my love for animals, I have the best part-time job with Little Paws as a pet sitter.

Pets have an amazing intuition to sense love and safety from those caring for them.   Like us, each is unique in personality, likes and dislikes.  With gentleness and wisdom gained through the years, I can detect and respect what your pet desires, whether just an affirmation of love and acceptance or time to cuddle and play.

I look forward to being the best extension of you, their best friend while you are away.  Thank you for entrusting the care of your pet with me and Little Paws!

Harvey

Harvey

Harvey is originally from “The City So Nice, They Named It Twice” – NY, NY. He grew up in Northern New Jersey, and has lived in Colorado Springs since 1992 after completing a career in the U.S. Air Force.

Harvey has always been a dog lover – owning Scotties and Westies in the 80’s and 90’s. His current favorite is his Golden Lab who he’s had for 8 years.

He has been known to rescue straying dogs from the highway to return them to their owners, and also to drive a rescued dog up to Denver International Airport to board his flight to a new home in California.

When not out walking Ray around the neighborhood, he devotes much of his time supporting several non-profits that serve the Deaf community.

He’s is especially pleased to be a part of Little Paws Pet Sitting Service so he can continue to serve his “friends” – and also provide pet owners with the assurance that their pets are receiving the best care possible .

Barbara

Barbara

Hi, my name is Barbara – I am an animal lover! I find it an absolute joy to get to take care of animals of all kinds. Throughout my life I have raised cats and dogs.  They have brought so much happiness and pleasure into my life. I am a very energetic person; I like to exercise, crochet and I am currently learning Italian.  I enjoy taking dogs for long walks and playing fetch; and snuggling with cats on the couch!

I would love to meet your pets and I understand the importance of trusting someone to care for your “furry companions”.  I follow directions that are needed to ensure your pet follows a normal routine and is well-taken care of. I will treat your pets as I would treat mine.

I’m looking forward to meeting and caring for your special pet.

Denise

Denise

I have lived in Colorado for 28 years.  I have always loved animals and grew up with dogs and cats.  That is when I started bringing home any dogs that were loose; I was going to have them live with me.  My parents had to explain that these dogs already had owners and I had to give them back.  I have always rescued lost dogs and made a huge effort in finding their owners.  Once I got married I had a Shih Tzu and he was my baby.  He lived till he was 13 years old.

I now am a dedicated wife and homemaker and the proud mom of two human children in their teens and 3 Maltese’s.  Their names are Sooner, Boomer and Schooner.  If you are a football fan then you figured out we are big Oklahoma Sooner fans.  Our dogs get birthday parties every year, with presents and a cake.

Please know when you leave your furry family with Little Paws I will love them as if they were mine!

Linda

Linda

Linda has had a life-long love affair with animals. In addition to having many family pets while growing
up, she often brought home stray kittens, injured wildlife , and other assorted critters to add them the household, or deliver them to the proper medical facility. Over time, Linda became increasingly more involved with animal welfare work. She discovered her true passion was working with humane organizations in finding permanent , loving homes for unwanted companion animals. Although a computer consultant and archaeologist by profession, Linda has worked with many dog, cat, bird and horse welfare organizations over the years. In fact, one of her dreams came true when she co-founded Help Save Pets (HSP), a humane society in Plainfield IL. She was also appointed to a special animal welfare task force to advise Illinois government prosecutors in animal abuse cases. Linda adopted a mustang horse, who was wild-caught by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) when he was two years old. Through natural horsemanship training, Zorro became a well seasoned trail horse and Linda’s companion in doing wild horse advocacy presentations at county fairs and humane society functions. Although both are semi-retired, Linda and Zorro are still involved in seeking federal legislation for the protection of America’s wild horses. Linda brings many years of experience working with companion animals to Little Paws Pet Sitting.
Her motto is, “I treat your pets as if they were my own.” She is dedicated to providing the best possible care to your animals while you are away.

Karen

Karen

I was raised in a farming community in northern Illinois and have been around animals all my life.

Since moving to Colorado Springs in 1976 I have cared for the pets of my friends many times, often for weeks at a time. Most often these have been dogs and cats, but I have also cared for the occasional gerbil and rabbit.

I have enjoyed being the house sitter for Little Paws on a professional level for many years now. I am looking very much forward to caring for your home and 4-legged family members either just overnights or days AND nights.

Lessie

Lessie

Lessie is a transplanted Nebraska native. She moved to Colorado Springs in 2007 with her husband, David. Her love affair with animals dates back to her first kitten. Animals have always played an important part in her life.

Lessie is a college graduate and enjoys many different hobbies. She loves reading, traveling, and trying new foods. She loves dragons and has a large variety in her collection. She is the proud “Mama” to two Dachshunds and two cats. They are the joy of her life!

Lessie is the Little Paws pet sitter for the North East part of town. She looks forward to making many new furry friends. She is committed to ensuring a high quality of life and love to all animals. Unlimited ear scratches and tummy rubs without a request!

Pet Visits

Our current staff consists of 10 professional permanent pet sitters. It is our goal to have the same pet sitter available for you every time you make a reservation with us.

Our staff has undergone a criminal and personal background check before being hired. All pet sitters have either been pet owners for a long time or have worked/volunteered in the animal community. We have experience administering medication and insulin shots. During all visits your pets will get the personal attention and care they deserve. We understand each pet has a different daily routine, feeding requirements and habits, specific to their breed, age and health. We cater to all of these needs.

1. Upon arrival your pets will be greeted and cared for according to your prior instructions. Depending on your preference, we will also bring in your mail, take out or bring in your garbage can, alternate lights and water plants.

2. At the very first visit your pet sitter will text, call or e-mail you to let you know he/she has arrived. If your pet let's us, we will be happy to text you pictures to confirm your furry family is happy while you're away.

3. A care report will be left in your home each day that your pet sitter visits. This report specifies the arrival time and date, what was done during the visit and additional information that your pet sitter wants to share with you.

4. Before leaving your home your pet sitter will do a home safety check to ensure your pets and home are ready to be left alone until the next scheduled visit.

Dear Ulrike,

We want to thank you for the care you provided for our dog, Marta, while we took the train trip up Pikes Peak. It was easy to make arrangements with you via e-mail prior to our trip and we were very comfortable with the person who cared for Marta. She made friends with Marta immediately and asked pertinent questions about her. We feel very confident in recommending your service to others.

With thanks, Loretta & Larry Reeser

Jack O’Donnell Why??? If you want to sleep, or have any peace of mind while you are away…that is why! Wish you were in Tucson!

Jack O., Tuscon, AZ

Little Paws was absolutely fabulous for the three years we lived in Colorado Springs. Both Ulrike and Lessie took tremendous care of our two newfies, who adored them. Lessie earned our respect particularly after one of our beasts had a crippling spinal embolism; she went well beyond the call of duty. These people love dogs, and our dogs certainly loved them.

Winky and Chewy has been taken care by the best cat sitters in town, little paws pet sitting, for over 6 years. I wouldn’t think of leaving my darling pets with anyone else! Little paws is responsible, loving and priced reasonably. They go beyond expectations for those of us that ocassionally forget to buy kitty food before going on a long trip :-). I know my kitties are safe and in great hands when I’m out of town. They are always worried about pet safety and their well being while their humans are gone. They also do a great job with plants, mail and cleaning after pets! I love Ulrike and her staff…Winky and Chewy love Linda! Thank you for all you do for us and our pets!

Dear Ulrike:
How can I express my gratitude for the wonderful service you provide? The fact that I can leave Chester alone for several days and never once feel concerned truly makes it possible for me to take vacations (REAL vacations). And as with any parent of any kind, I can always immediately tell that he has been well cared for. Your service is fantastic.
